Property Tax Bills

The Calumet County Treasurer’s Office mails property tax bills in mid-December. The County does not mail tax bills to escrow companies. Work with your escrow company directly if you have questions or concerns about when they will be paying your tax bill.

First installment or full payment is due to the Village Treasurer by January 31. Tax payments postmarked or left in the Village Hall's drop box on the weekend of 12/30/23, will be credited with a 12/31/23 date.

New in 2023 - the transportation special charge has been removed. This was an add-on charge the Village used to fund road and street maintenance. For 2024, it was decided to fund the maintenance by borrowing and budgeting for repayment through the general fund (tax levy). This results in a net-zero increase to your overall tax bill for the Village portion. This change allows for more flexibility and may benefit Harrison homeowners on their income tax returns (check with your tax preparer regarding deductions). Your overall tax bill may have increased or decreased depending upon changes in your assessed value, special charges, or your school district’s tax levy.

Lottery Credit / School Levy Credit

Lottery Credit: Wisconsin shares the profits from the lotteries with all homeowners on their primary property tax bill. Owners only have to file once to begin receiving the credit and then file a removal if the property stops being the owner’s primary residence. The amount varies according to your school district. You can only claim this credit on your primary residence, and you must have resided there the entire year.

School Levy Credit: The school levy tax credit is applied to every taxable property. The credit amount is based on the property's assessed value as a percent of the municipality's total assessed value and varies between school districts.
