To property owners, occupants, or person in charge of any parcel or lot that abuts any public sidewalk in the Village of Harrison is responsible for keeping the sidewalk clear of all snow and ice within a 24-hour period from when snow ceases. Sidewalks are to be kept clear of snow and ice a minimum of five feet in width. If ice forms and cannot be removed the person in charge of the property shall keep the sidewalk sprinkled with material to accelerate melting or prevent slipping.

In addition, no person shall push, shove or in any way deposit any snow or ice onto any public street, alley, sidewalk, or public lands dedicated to public use. Snow from public sidewalks shall not be stored in any manner which will obstruct or limit vehicular or pedestrian vision, movement, or access.

No additional notices will be given to violators; all Village actions will be taken automatically.

If the person in charge of the property fails to comply with Village ordinance 22-212, they shall be subject to penalties of $200.50.
